Lee Johnson bought a Bailey ladder to reach the tops of the semi-trailers he paints, and in return he won the trip of a life-time.

Lee and three of his best mates were whisked away to enjoy an Ultimate Grand Final weekend and attend both the AFL and NRL Grand Finals in the first weekend of October thanks to Bailey Ladders.

“The win absolutely threw me for a sixer! I entered after seeing the ticket on my new ladder, but never thought I would actually win,” said Lee as he recounted his reaction to hearing about his prize.

“One of the guys was shaking when I told him about the trip,” he says. “None of us had ever been to a Grand Final before and we were all greatly anticipating the experience.”

A crash repairer by trade, Lee has a great eye for detail which helped him build his dream house and hobby farm over the past three years on a two and a half acre block in Hackham, South Australia.

“There is something wonderful about doing everything yourself,” he says, “I have built the entire property from earthworks to constructing the house and we have recently completed a fantastic 100sqm decking.”

Most people would struggle to pick the perfect three mates to take on the trip of a lifetime, but for Lee it was simple.

“I had a great deal of help with the building of my house - Brenton and Glenn were always there to lend a hand, as was my dad Peter,” Lee explains “so it was really nice for me to be able to thank them by including them in a prize like the Grand Final weekend.”

The trip did not disappoint, with Lee and his mates having the time of their lives as they were spoilt by pre and post match entertainment and enjoyed two very exciting Grand Finals.

“AFL has always been my number one sport, but since watching the NRL Grand Final I have become quite fanatical about that too,” Lee enthused. “The games were fantastic and paired with the hospitality and great mates it was a weekend we will never forget!”
